PERCEPTION….

Today I had learned about perception in my MGT534 subject…

Perception…for me is something that we think about others on the first expression….

Either the person has a good or bad character….

Sometimes, we will think that a person who is wearing proper is a good, rich or educated person…

But in fact..This kind of person can be someone who are really bad, maybe a thief, rapist, or anyone with a bad intention..therefore, it is important for us to keep cautious with people around us…

Perceptual Process Model….there are five environment stimuli which are feeling, hearing, seeing, smelling and tasting…what I understand here is…we can make a perception towards others using our sense…

The attribution process is divided into two which are…internal and external…

Internal attribution means perception is due to motivation/ability rather than situation…

For example..student attitude who always come to class late..it may happen because of the student internal attribution which motivate he/she to come late…

While for external attribution, it means that the behavior is due to situation around the person rather than the person itself…

For instance..there is a student who always come to class early, but one day he/she come late because the bus left he/she…

HOW TO IMPROVE PERCEPTION??????

THERE ARE TWO WAYS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE PERCEPTION….

1) BY EMPATHY : IT IS A SENSITIVITY ABOUT OTHERS FEELING, THOUGHT AND SITUATION…

2) USING SELF-AWARENESS ; AWARE TO YOUR VALUE, BELIEF AND PREJUDICE….

LASTLY..I JUST WANT TO SHARE ABOUT THE ‘JOHARI WINDOWS’…

IT HAS FOUR SITUATION…

1) OPEN AREA : SITUATION WHERE KNOWN TO SELF AND ALSO KNOWN TO OTHERS.

2) HIDDEN AREA : WHERE IT IS KNOWN TO SELF BUT UNKNOWN TO OTHERS.

3) BLIND AREA : IT IS UNKNOWN TO SELF BUT KNOWN TO OTHERS (QUITE DANGEROUS)

4) UNKNOWN AREA ; IT IS UNKNOWN TO SELF AND ALSO UNKNOWN TO OTHERS (FUTURE)

SO MAKE YOUR PERCEPTION S…BUT DON’T JUST SIMPLY JUDGE PEOPLE FROM ITS COVER…
